[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, held a completion ceremony for the Wolyeong Square construction project in Masanhappo-gu on the 23rd.

The Wolyeong Square development project was selected in June 2013 as part of the government's regional development policy to revitalize the declining central urban area through the 'Urban Vitality Promotion Area Development Project.' A total of 21.4 billion KRW was invested to create a 16,279㎡ transportation plaza.

The city improved the intersection traffic system to facilitate smooth traffic flow, reinforced the symbolic significance of the western gateway area entrance plaza, and linked Wolyeongdae (Gyeongsangnam-do Monument No. 125), Choi Chi-won, and the plaza floor fountain to create a themed small-scale cultural and relaxation space.

The event was attended by Mayor Heo Seong-mu, National Assembly member Choi Hyung-doo, Gyeongnam National University President Park Jae-gyu, provincial council members, city council members, and citizens.

Mayor Heo said, "We expect that the commercial district will be revitalized centered around Wolyeong Square, contributing to citizens' cultural life and urban vitality."
