Hanwha Engineering & Construction announced that it held the awards ceremony for the "2021 Hanwha E&C Innovation Technology Contest," organized to strengthen mutual growth and technological cooperation with small and medium-sized partner companies, on the 23rd.

The ceremony, held at the Hanwha Building in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by a minimal number of people, including Yoon Yong-sang, Head of the Architecture Division at Hanwha E&C, and the contest winners, in compliance with quarantine guidelines.

From October 15 to November 26, proposals were accepted through the Hanwha E&C website, receiving a total of 178 technology ideas from domestic SMEs, startups, universities (graduate schools), and research institutes. Hanwha E&C evaluated the proposed technologies based on four criteria: investment value, creativity, efficiency (effectiveness), and scalability. A technology presentation was held on the 21st, and seven final winners were selected.

The grand prize was awarded to Yuseok Construction Co., Ltd. for their "Rock Drilling Method," a rock drilling technique that addresses the ongoing issues of noise and vibration at construction sites. This technology effectively improves noise, vibration, and dust problems compared to existing methods used in rock excavation, and it received high marks for the operational efficiency of the equipment.

Additionally, the gold prize went to Changsoft I&I Co., Ltd. for their "BuilderHub Detailed Design Automation BIM Technology by Construction Type," the silver prize to Plus Deck Co., Ltd. for their "Plus Vinyl Formwork," and the bronze prize to Chamsul Tech Co., Ltd. for their "AI-based Parking Lot Convergence Platform Using Big Data." The excellence awards were given to PH Topdown Co., Ltd., GD Consultant Co., Ltd., and Builgunhwa Co., Ltd., each receiving plaques and prize money.

Hanwha E&C plans to review additional support benefits for all submitted technologies, including the winning ones. This includes providing construction sites and test beds necessary for technology idea verification, supporting joint development and research cooperation, and registering partner companies.

Furthermore, Hanwha E&C will continue to operate the "Technology Proposal Center," a platform established on its website for discovering and supporting new technologies and construction methods, to maintain mutual cooperation with partner companies.

Yoon Yong-sang, Head of the Architecture Division, stated, "We will actively promote mutual growth and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management through technological support for SMEs and startups in the future."
