원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Seoul city announced that the number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 1,258 over 18 hours from midnight to 6 p.m. on Sunday the 19th.
Compared to the same time frame, this is 247 more than the previous day (the 18th) with 1,011 cases, and 352 more than a week ago (the 12th) with 906 cases. The total number of cases for the entire day was 2,320 on the 18th and 2,550 on the 12th.
The daily number of cases in Seoul surpassed 2,000 on the 30th of last month (2,222 cases), then reached a record high of 3,166 cases on the 14th of this month, marking the first time over 3,000 cases and setting an all-time high. It remained in the 3,000 range on the 15th, then dropped to the high 2,000s from the 16th, but the spread still shows no signs of slowing down.
As of 6 p.m. on the 19th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 202,605.
The final total number of cases for the day will be compiled as of midnight on the 20th and announced in the morning.
