[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] I-ONE-S is expanding its facility investment by purchasing a site in Anseong that can more than double its current production capacity. There are expectations that, following its acquisition by Hansol Group, it will be able to increase orders related to Samsung Electronics.
On the 13th, I-ONE-S announced that it expects sales of 38 billion KRW this year from Samsung Electronics, which accounts for most of its semiconductor cleaning and coating sales. With this facility expansion, it also stated that it will be possible to secure supply volume worth 80 billion KRW next year. Analysts believe that with Hansol Group, known as part of the "pro-Samsung family," becoming the largest shareholder, it will be possible to increase its market share within Samsung Electronics. Previously, Hansol decided to acquire I-ONE-S, a semiconductor parts company, through its affiliate Hansol Technics. It plans to secure 34.47% of I-ONE-S's management shares for 127.5 billion KRW.
Additionally, I-ONE-S announced that it has been registered as an official supplier to A Company, a world-renowned European semiconductor equipment company, and will be able to deliver new supplies starting in 2022. Furthermore, it emphasized the importance of the new material "Iconic," which is currently under development and can replace quartz.
An I-ONE-S representative explained, "The current quartz replacement market is worth 1.2 trillion KRW globally and 500 billion KRW domestically. At the time when testing of Iconic is completed, we expect to secure more than 20% of the entire domestic market." He added, "We have completed the first round of testing through three overseas equipment companies and obtained positive results." He also mentioned plans to expand mass production facilities after the first half of next year, when the customer's final testing related to quartz is expected to be completed.
