원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyeyoung] Samsung Electronics announced on the 12th that it will showcase 17 Korean antique artworks through its lifestyle TV 'The Frame' in collaboration with the Leeum Museum of Art.
The artworks presented this time include representative pieces from the Leeum Museum of Art's collection, featuring 4 national treasures and treasures.
Masterpieces such as 'Gunsendo' (National Treasure), considered the finest work of Kim Hongdo, the Goryeo Dynasty metal craft 'Bronze Incense Burner with Silver Inlay and Phoenix Pattern' (National Treasure), the Goryeo Dynasty 'Gamdjigeum Eun-ni Daebanggwangbulhwagyeomgyeong Volume 31' (National Treasure), and the late Joseon Dynasty 'Gyeonggi Gamyeongdo' (Treasure) are included in 'The Frame.' The artworks introduced through 'The Frame' can also be seen in the Leeum Museum of Art's permanent exhibition.
Lee Kwangbae, senior researcher at the Leeum Museum of Art, said, "Due to the nature of antique artworks that must be displayed inside glass cases for preservation and safety reasons, it is often difficult for visitors to examine the details of the works, but with The Frame's excellent image quality and large screen, viewers will be able to enjoy the delicate beauty."
Sung Ilkyung, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division, explained, "Through collaboration with the Leeum Museum of Art, we have been able to include rare traditional artworks on The Frame. With 4K QLED quality, you can comfortably appreciate the beauty of Korean tradition at home."
The Frame is a TV that can be used like a picture frame by displaying artworks or photos on the screen when not watching TV. Through the dedicated art subscription platform 'Art Store,' users can enjoy over 1,600 artworks provided by more than 40 famous museums and art galleries worldwide.
