[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has completed the "Jungnangcheon Ecological Restoration and Greening Project," transforming the existing seeded flower garden on the Jungnangcheon riverside into a rose garden that can be enjoyed throughout all four seasons.
This project was promoted to provide residents with green spaces and places for relaxation, contributing to the improvement of their quality of life.
The district planted 11 varieties of roses totaling 9,328 plants, 2,000 boxwoods, and 1,260 plants of 10 varieties of three-colored spirea on a 1,400㎡ site along the Jungnangcheon riverside near 597-1 Junggok 3-dong.
The rose garden features seasonal roses planted along a walking path designed to symbolize waterways, themed around the waterfront city of Gwangjin. Climbing roses were planted on a boat-shaped sculpture symbolizing Gwangjin (廣津), creating a photo zone.
Additionally, a sitting wall was installed on the boat sculpture to provide residents with a place to rest.
Furthermore, to provide residents with a safe and pleasant environment, logo lights will be installed at the Jungnangcheon access points.
The installation locations include three sites: ▲Gunja Bridge entrance ▲around Junggok Pump Station ▲Jangpyeong Bridge entrance.
The logo lights display daily life guidelines such as ▲evacuation procedures during heavy rain and various disasters ▲pet etiquette including leash use and muzzling of dangerous dogs ▲and COVID-19 prevention rules.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We aim to provide residents walking along Jungnangcheon with more sights and resting spaces, turning it into a healing area. We will continue to discover and implement policies that residents can feel in their daily lives.”
