[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] TBN Korea Transportation Broadcasting, operated by the Korea Road Traffic Authority, ranked first in the terrestrial radio category of the '2020 Korea Communications Commission Broadcasting Evaluation,' achieving the highest overall evaluation score for six consecutive years since 2015.
In this evaluation, TBN Korea Transportation Broadcasting's 11 broadcasts received a high average score of 245.56 points across three categories: content and programming, station management, and compliance with broadcasting-related regulations. It received a perfect score of 35 points in the evaluation of reflecting listener opinions to protect listener rights, and also a perfect score of 25 points in the 'employment of persons with disabilities and women' category.
In particular, it was highly rated for broadcasting aimed at public safety, such as scheduling disaster broadcasts in response to rapidly changing environments like COVID-19 and the climate crisis, earning 53.25 points out of a possible 60 in the 'disaster broadcast scheduling and operation status' category, marking the highest score for six consecutive years.
Lee Woo-ho, Head of Broadcasting at the Korea Road Traffic Authority, said, "TBN Korea Transportation Broadcasting ranks first among domestic broadcasters in disaster broadcast-related categories," adding, "We will continue to strive to always be by the people's side as the representative public safety broadcaster."
