[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The '2021 Ulsan Volunteer Grand Festival' will be held at 7 p.m. on the 7th at KBS Ulsan Hall.
This event was organized to encourage volunteers who have worked hard in various places such as COVID-19 quarantine activities as the main actors of the happiness brand 'Volunteer Best-Ulsan (BEST-ULSAN)' and to spread the volunteer culture.
According to COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, 499 people were invited to the event by selecting invitees based on the proportion of registered volunteers by district and county.
At the commemorative ceremony, awards will be given to volunteers who have contributed to COVID-19 response and active quarantine activities such as operating the 'Clean Bus Stop' and the 'Integrated Volunteer Support Group': ▲Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation (1 individual) ▲Ulsan Mayor Commendation (49 individuals, 16 organizations) ▲Chairman of Ulsan City Council Commendation (5 individuals).
The Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation will be awarded to Lee Sang-yong, head of the Ulsan Disaster Specialized Volunteer Group, and the Ulsan Mayor Commendation will be given to 58 companies, organizations, and individuals including the Taekwang Industrial Ulsan Plant Volunteer Group.
The Chairman of Ulsan City Council Commendation will be awarded to five people including Lee Young-soon of the Korea Beauty Association Ulsan Jung-gu Branch.
Also, in the '2021 Volunteer Excellent Program Contest' category, seven organizations including the Ulsan Passenger Volunteer Association, which conducted the program 'Nipoupo with Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities,' will receive the Ulsan Mayor's Award.
'Nipoupo' means 'If you don't give up, we won't give up either.'
There are about 370,000 registered volunteers in Ulsan City, including individual volunteers, university student volunteer groups, disaster specialized volunteer groups, 21 social contribution agreement companies, 9 public institutions relocated to innovation cities, and BEST ULSAN, a customized matching group, all working hard in various fields of volunteer activities.
