[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] On the 2nd, SK Hynix carried out executive personnel changes for 2022, appointing executives born in the 1980s, the first time for the 'MZ Generation.' In this personnel move, SK Hynix is interpreted as boldly promoting a generational shift, as SK Group saw its youngest ever president in his 40s emerge.
SK Hynix announced that it conducted organizational restructuring along with executive appointments after reporting to the board of directors on the same day. A total of 29 new executives were appointed in this personnel change.
The most notable appointment among them is Lee Jaeseo, born in 1982, selected as an excellent leader of the MZ Generation. This is the first time an executive born in the 1980s has been appointed at SK Hynix. Lee, a vice president in his 30s who graduated with a master's degree in Applied Electronics Engineering from Dongguk University, has been working on future strategy-related tasks at SK Hynix and was appointed as an executive in charge of strategic planning this time.
Along with this, SK Hynix appointed female executives again this year following last year. Shin Seunga, born in 1977, was newly appointed as an executive and will be in charge of the Future Technology Research Institute AT. Additionally, Son Suyong, in charge of DRAM Development Infrastructure, was appointed as the first executive from a full-time (production) background.
SK Hynix explained, "We decided to promote bold generational changes and pursue changes from the perspectives of diversity and inclusion to foster excellent talent early."
Meanwhile, SK Hynix newly established the 'Safety Development Manufacturing Division' and 'Business Division' under the CEO. Kwak Nojeong, in charge of manufacturing/technology (56), and Noh Jongwon, in charge of management support (46), were promoted to presidents and will lead the two organizations respectively. President Kwak will also lead the Corporate Culture Upgrade Task Force (TF). President Noh, born in 1975, ties the record for the youngest ever president established by Choo Hyungwook, who was promoted to president of SK E&S last year after Chairman Chey Tae-won's inauguration.
