[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 23rd that it conducted training for public officials to strengthen social value capabilities and raise awareness.


This training, under the theme "Conditions for Solving Regional Problems," invited Kwak Bok-im, Secretary General of the Gwangju Regional Problem-Solving Platform, as the instructor. The content covered ▲Reviewing cases of the Gwangju Regional Problem-Solving Platform ▲Citizen participation innovation cases ▲The language of work for public-private-civil collaboration.


Additionally, focusing on successful cases of living labs, a social innovation problem-solving method recently utilized in various fields, public officials learned how to collaborate with diverse problem-solving agents to realize social value, ultimately aiming to create and spread social value for Seo-gu residents.


Seo-gu plans to provide opportunities to solve community problems through resident-led collaboration with problem-solving agents, centered on the Seoro 西路 Eum Social Value Support Center, which opened in September last year, by ▲Supporting living lab mentoring ▲Conducting living lab contest projects ▲Providing opportunities to benchmark excellent cases.


Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "I hope this training will serve as an opportunity for employees to consider ways to realize social value in the process of carrying out policies as public officials," and added, "We will make multifaceted efforts and support to strengthen social innovation capabilities so that residents can discover regional problems themselves and find solutions."
