[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 13th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, conducted education on the prevention of the four major types of violence (sexual harassment, prostitution, sexual violence, domestic violence) for about 20 high-ranking public officials in the large conference room of the county office.
The county has consistently provided violence prevention education to all employees to foster a healthy organizational culture. Starting this year, separate mandatory education for high-ranking public officials was implemented, inviting Choi Yoon-seon, a specialist instructor from the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, to conduct small-scale face-to-face training.
Instructor Choi Yoon-seon delivered a highly empathetic lecture titled "No to Sex Discrimination, Up Gender Sensitivity!" covering the generational gaps in gender awareness sensitivity, how gender stereotypes lead to sex discrimination, various power relations within organizations, and prevention of secondary damage, emphasizing the responsibilities and roles of high-ranking public officials in the workplace.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, stated, "It is time for executive public officials to actively respond and cope with the changing organizational culture and the gradually improving gender awareness sensitivity," adding, "We will strive to ensure that executive public officials take the lead and play a key role in creating a sexually equal organizational culture."
