The Newly Redesigned <span class="highlight">KakaoPay App</span>, Fully Revamped with User Customization

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Kakao Pay announced on the 7th that it has completely revamped the Kakao Pay app. Kakao Pay explained that it reorganized the entire app structure into a user-customized format to allow easier and faster access to various functions.

The biggest feature is the newly added widget function. Users can add desired services as widgets on the Kakao Pay app home screen to customize the app according to their personality and needs. Frequently used services, payment history, Kakao Pay points and coupon accumulation status, event information, and various other functions can be set as widgets for quicker access.

The app home screen theme can also be set according to personal preference. Users can choose from various characters such as Kakao Friends Ryan and Chunsik to design the theme, and shaking the phone adds fun by making the characters move together.

The ‘Benefits’ tab has also changed. The 'Benefits' tab is placed in the bottom menu of the app home screen, making it more convenient to view promotion information from various partners, the status of 'Al Rewards' earned during payments, and owned coupon details. Additionally, a function to earn Kakao Pay points by checking banners containing promotion information has been added. Users can receive three times more Kakao Pay points when checking through the Kakao Pay app compared to using KakaoTalk.

A ‘Financial Tips’ tab has been prepared to check various financial news. Instead of difficult financial information, it provides customized financial tips to users in an easy and fun way. Users can also use the 'Financial Calendar' to view various financial events scheduled for the week at a glance.

Kakao Pay plans to continuously hold the 'Collecting Happiness' event through the renewed Kakao Pay app. When users collect all the materials for coupon products provided in each round, they can exchange them for actual product coupons or receive Kakao Pay points. Upon first entering the revamped Kakao Pay app, users are randomly given one material, and sharing the Kakao Pay app invitation link with friends gives both the friend and the user one material each. Users can exchange or gift the needed materials with friends to complete the product.

Kakao Pay stated, “We revamped the Kakao Pay app so that 36.5 million users can freely use the platform according to their tastes and needs,” and added, “We will provide a more special experience as an optimized ‘My Own Financial Platform’ for each individual.”
