원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Spoqa, a startup providing solutions for small business stores, announced on the 23rd that the cumulative transaction amount of 'Dodo Cart,' officially launched last August, surpassed 100 billion KRW within one year of its release.
Spoqa announced that as of September, the cumulative transaction amount of the food ingredient cost management app 'Dodo Cart' reached 100 billion KRW. Following a cumulative transaction amount of 30 billion KRW recorded in January this year, the transaction amount increased by more than 330% in about seven months.
The number of Dodo Cart app subscribers also increased significantly. Despite being a platform exclusively for foodservice workers ranging from small neighborhood restaurants to large franchises, it attracted around 20,000 subscribers just six months after its launch in January. Currently, the number of service users is approaching 70,000.
Dodo Cart provides comparative and analytical reports on expenditure costs during the relevant period simply by registering food ingredient purchase statements, allowing users to grasp changes in suppliers and key items at a glance. It also helps manage food ingredient costs smartly, enabling cost reduction effects.
Spoqa stated that the number of food ingredient statements registered in the Dodo Cart app has accumulated to 500,000, with about 50,000 food ingredient suppliers aggregated through this data, and the number of items reaching approximately 550,000. Considering that there are 200,000 registered food ingredient distributors domestically, this means that 25% of domestic distributors are registered.
Additionally, Spoqa is currently advancing the enhancement of its system by adding a 'food ingredient supplier search function' to the existing cost analysis service through statement organization. By registering various supplier information, it expands the choices for store owners while also expecting more distributors to secure opportunities to sell high-quality excellent agricultural products on Dodo Cart.
Choi Jaeseung, CEO of Spoqa, said, “Although the domestic food ingredient distribution market size reaches 49 trillion KRW and the market is growing, there has been no proper specialized platform, causing many difficulties for foodservice workers. We will strengthen the functions of the Dodo Cart app, such as 'viewing food ingredient suppliers at a glance' and 'searching and checking cost information by item,' and lead the digital transformation of the food ingredient industry to benefit both restaurant owners and suppliers.”
