Winner of the Girls' High School +78kg Division at the National Middle and High School Judo Competition, athlete Jeong Yura.
원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jeonghwan] The judo team of Ulsan Sports Science High School participated in the '2021 Yongin University President's National Middle and High School Judo Competition' and won one gold medal and one bronze medal.
The competition was held from the 24th to the 27th at the Yanggu Cultural and Sports Center in Gangwon Province, hosted by the Korea Judo Association.
In the girls' high school division +78kg category, Jeong Yura (3rd year) won the gold medal by defeating Lee Seeun from Chungbuk Sports High School with an ippon win by osaekomi in the final.
Jeong Yura won three consecutive ippon victories to reach the final: an ippon win by kata guruma against Kim Dayoon from Gyeongnam Sports High School in the quarterfinals, and an ippon win by harai goshi against Kim Mikyung from Gwangmyeong Girls' High School in the semifinals.
In the boys' high school division -81kg category, Lee Jaehyun (2nd year) won an ippon by ushiro goshi an arm throw against Son Jiwan from Boseong High School in the quarterfinals, but lost by shime-waza ippon to Park Junhyun from Boseong High School in the semifinals, earning a bronze medal.
