[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] A Korean man in his 20s was arrested in Japan for sexually harassing a high school girl to whom he was giving private lessons. Local media reported on the incident, revealing the man's face, name, and other personal information.

According to Japanese media such as TBS on the 14th (local time), the police arrested Hwang Mo (26), an English tutor, at a cram school in Shinjuku, Tokyo, for sexually harassing a high school girl.

Hwang is accused of touching the high school girl's body during a private lesson around 8 p.m. on the 15th of last month. He reportedly sat next to the girl, saying "I like you," and committed the sexual harassment. When the girl resisted by saying "Stop it," he silenced her by saying, "Don't tell anyone," according to the investigation.

After the harassment, the victim quit the cram school and confided in her parents. The police, who received the report, then arrived and arrested Hwang.

Japanese media disclosed all of Hwang's personal information, including his age and name, while reporting the incident. They also released footage of Hwang wearing a mask being escorted by police into a transport vehicle. In Japan, most personal information of suspects in serious crimes is made public.

During the police investigation, Hwang reportedly delayed his statement regarding the charges, saying, "I will respond after consulting with my lawyer."
