[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 13th that it is currently conducting the 'Seo-gu Happiness 1st Street Public Official Idea Contest' to discover innovative ideas that will contribute to citizen happiness and district development.
Through about a month-long submission process, approximately 70 ideas have been received for this contest.
Seo-gu will select outstanding ideas through a total of three rounds of evaluation by the end of this month: ▲ online evaluation with residents ▲ preliminary evaluation by working-level team leaders ▲ final evaluation including external experts.
This idea contest targeted public officials who are well acquainted with Seo-gu's current issues through their work in district administration.
To discover fresh and creative ideas from young public officials, various incentives have been prepared, including a maximum prize of 1 million KRW and additional performance points during work evaluations.
Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "I hope this will be an opportunity to discover many innovative and practical ideas, not just an annual and formal idea contest," adding, "Together with residents' ideas to be collected at the end of the year, I hope this will serve as a foundation for a happy Seo-gu."
