[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Jeollanam-do Boseong-gun (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) announced on the 22nd that the Safe Call service introduced for COVID-19 quarantine management has been selected as an excellent case in Jeollanam-do.
Since last February, the Safe Call (phone-based entry log) service has been introduced and operated in about 1,000 private businesses such as restaurants and beauty salons, as well as public facilities within the jurisdiction.
The Safe Call phone entry log works by visitors calling a unique phone number assigned to each business with their personal mobile phone, and the system records the phone number and visit date and time without exposure, along with a voice message saying "Your visit registration has been completed."
This allows users to easily register their visit without concerns about personal information leakage, and when a COVID-19 epidemiological investigation is needed, entry records can be checked within 10 minutes, greatly contributing to blocking quarantine and preventing the spread of COVID-19.
The operating costs of Safe Call are fully borne by the county, and businesses wishing to apply for a phone number can request it from the relevant department at the county office. After on-site verification and several information provision procedures, a unique phone number is assigned upon suitability assessment.
A county official said, "We thank the residents and tourists who actively cooperate with the implementation of the Safe Call entry log," and added, "The introduction of Safe Call has increased convenience for visitors and greatly helped COVID-19 epidemiological investigations, receiving positive responses from small business owners."
