Shinsegae Department Store Main Branch is selling directly sourced Korean beef.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 21st that, following Gangnam Branch, Main Branch, and Gyeonggi Branch, it will showcase high-quality beef in Daejeon next month.

Shinsegae Department Store is the first in the department store industry to directly participate in Korean beef (Hanwoo) auctions and is selling high-quality beef. Since the launch in April this year, Gangnam Branch and Main Branch have been selling out all the Hanwoo purchased each month. Especially this Chuseok, they are taking the lead in the market with differentiated products, including gifts made directly from auctioned Hanwoo.

A Shinsegae Department Store livestock buyer with over 10 years of experience has made thorough preparations to participate in this Hanwoo auction. They obtained the qualification to participate in the auction and studied the breeding environment, meat color, and quality of major ranches. Since March, they have been participating in the Eumseong public auction for Hanwoo, with the main task being to check the list of Hanwoo available that day from 8 a.m. and purchase products during the auction starting at 10 a.m. Customers prefer grade 1 beef with light marbling and only handle cows under 60 months of age.
