[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] On the morning of the 11th, one day before the implementation of Level 4 social distancing in the Seoul metropolitan area, Moon Seung-wook, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, visited Lotte Department Store in Myeongdong, Seoul to inspect the industry's quarantine management status.

After checking the department store's quarantine status, Minister Moon emphasized, "The distribution industry is an essential business directly connected to the daily lives of the people, so it must maintain heightened vigilance," adding, "We must concentrate all efforts on blocking the spread in the metropolitan area and ensure thorough quarantine management on-site to prevent any blind spots." He continued, "Many citizens are exhausted due to prolonged strengthened quarantine measures, but if we become complacent, all the efforts made so far could be wasted in an instant," urging not to lower the guard.

Currently, Lotte Department Store is establishing and implementing strengthened self-quarantine measures, including special management of vulnerable facilities such as the food section.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will increase the 'special on-site inspection of quarantine management at distribution facilities' from once a week to more than five times a week, including weekends, starting from the 12th, in accordance with the implementation of Level 4 social distancing in the metropolitan area. Communication with the industry will also be strengthened from once a month to once a week.
