[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) announced on the 1st that it has completed the enactment of an ordinance related to the payment of COVID-19 vaccination incentives for the first time in the nation and will provide an incentive of 20,000 won per person.

This incentive, provided to both increase the vaccination rate and revitalize the local economy, will be paid in the form of the local currency, Boseong Sarang Gift Certificates, to support small business owners and neighborhood commercial districts.

Currently, the first-dose vaccination completion rate in Boseong-gun is 52.5%, maintaining a top rank in Jeollanam-do.

The number of people who have completed the second dose is about 8,300, accounting for 20.6% of the total.

Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca require completion of the second dose, while Janssen recipients can receive the incentive after the first dose.

For seniors aged 75 and older, who have completed the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, responsible officials will visit villages directly to provide on-site payments.

Other vaccinated individuals can receive gift certificates by bringing their ID and vaccination certificate or mobile certificate to their local town or township office, health center, or vaccination center.

Even if vaccinated in other regions, residents registered as Boseong-gun citizens as of the 1st can receive the vaccination incentive.

Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, said, “From the time when concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine were high, it is thanks to the citizens who took the lead for the safety of their neighbors that we now maintain a high vaccination rate. Although the amount is modest, we prepared the incentive in the form of the local currency, Boseong Sarang Gift Certificates, to express our gratitude to the citizens who actively participated in vaccination and to provide some support to our local small business owners and help revive the economy.”

Meanwhile, the county is making every effort to achieve an 80% vaccination rate and is introducing various incentives to increase the vaccination rate among the general adult population in the third quarter.
