[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Maeil Dairies announced on the 23rd that its adult nutrition brand Selex has launched the health functional food "CoreProtein Pro Dietary Fiber."
"CoreProtein Pro" contains low-molecular hydrolyzed protein, developed through Maeil Dairies' long-standing infant nutrition research technology, which dissolves smoothly in the stomach where protein digestion begins, making it an easy-to-digest health functional food. The newly released "CoreProtein Pro Dietary Fiber" is an enhanced version of the existing "CoreProtein Pro," fortified with "Sunfiber," which promotes the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria to create a healthy gut environment. It was created for adults who lack dietary fiber due to meat-centered diets or weight management. Sunfiber dietary fiber, which serves as food for beneficial bacteria, changes the gut environment to acidic, increasing beneficial bacteria and reducing harmful bacteria, thereby fostering a healthy intestinal environment.
The low-molecular hydrolyzed protein used in this product is an ingredient exclusively supplied worldwide to Maeil Dairies by Arla Foods, Denmark's top dairy company. It is made from raw milk obtained from healthy cows naturally grazed in Denmark’s pristine dairy regions, where stress is minimal.
Along with low-molecular hydrolyzed protein, the product combines whey protein and isolated soy protein, considering digestion speed, to ensure continuous protein utilization in the body. By evenly designing high-quality protein, the product achieves an "Amino Acid Score" of over 120 points, meeting more than 141% of the standards set by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. It is also a complete protein product containing all nine essential amino acids that cannot be synthesized in the body and must be obtained from food.
Additionally, this product follows Maeil Dairies' independently developed nutritional design tailored for Koreans, focusing on "protein, leucine, and vitamin D." Reflecting the results of the first human application trial conducted by Maeil Dairies on Koreans, the product is formulated with an optimal muscle health ratio including 20g of protein, 3,000mg of leucine, and 20㎍ of vitamin D. It also includes calcium and magnesium for muscle and bone health, B vitamins for vitality, and zinc for normal immune function.
While maintaining the rich and savory taste of milk, lactose is reduced to 1/20th of that in regular milk, allowing those who usually have difficulty drinking milk due to lactose intolerance to consume it comfortably. It is beneficial for those who suffer from constipation when consuming protein or who lack dietary fiber intake from vegetables or fruits.
The price of "CoreProtein Pro Dietary Fiber" is 35,000 KRW per can (294g).
