[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Jeonnam Autonomous Police Committee announced on the 22nd that it visited the Jeonnam Senior Citizens' Center on the 18th to gather opinions on elderly protection measures ahead of the full implementation of the autonomous police system on the 1st of next month.

The committee has the function of deliberating and deciding on major policies related to autonomous police affairs such as life safety, women and youth, traffic, and regional security.

Chairman Jo Manhyung shared the launch status of the autonomous police system with Bae Gisul, President of the Jeollanam-do Senior Citizens Association, and discussed community issues.

To ensure smooth execution of autonomous police affairs, the committee plans to continue on-site visits to attentively listen to the vivid voices of socially vulnerable groups in order to discover and improve customized policies reflecting regional characteristics.

Additionally, the committee aims to create a Jeonnam-style autonomous police system centered on residents under the vision of "A Safe Future with Residents, A Happy Jeonnam," and will make every effort to achieve this goal.

Chairman Jo Manhyung stated, “We will establish a system to reduce traffic accidents involving the elderly and to prevent and report elder abuse, creating a Jeonnam where senior citizens can feel safe.”
