[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] This fall, it is expected that visitors will be able to enjoy colorful chrysanthemum flowers at Hampyeong Expo Park.
In October, the "Korea Chrysanthemum Festival," where visitors can see and enjoy everything about chrysanthemums, including large chrysanthemum sculptures, will be held at Hampyeong Expo Park.
On the 21st, Hampyeong County announced that it decided to hold the "2021 Korea Chrysanthemum Festival" after comprehensively considering the government's third-quarter vaccination plan and the current vaccination progress among Hampyeong residents.
After a pause last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Korea Chrysanthemum Festival will be carefully prepared and presented as a safe and secure festival.
Along with this decision, the county appointed Jang Jinman (42), an adjunct professor in the Department of Performance Festival Contents at Osan University, as the general director of the "2021 Korea Chrysanthemum Festival." Director Jang will be responsible for directing and overseeing the entire festival.
Additionally, through meetings with the working department and public contests, the exact festival schedule and theme will be selected by next month, and procedures such as establishing the basic and execution plans for the festival will commence.
County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, "There was much regret as we could not hold the festival from last year through the first half of this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since we decided early to hold the autumn festival, we will prepare thoroughly to hold a safe and secure festival that comforts the weary residents and helps revitalize the local economy."
