[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The prosecution has demanded a 7-year prison sentence for former Busan Mayor Oh Geo-don, who was indicted on charges of forced molestation causing injury.

Former Mayor Oh appeared at the second closing arguments held at 9:50 a.m. on the 21st at the Busan District Court in Yeonje-gu, Busan.

Wearing a dark gray suit and a bucket hat, Oh showed up in front of the courtroom but did not respond to reporters' questions and immediately entered Courtroom 301 of the Busan District Court.

At the closing arguments, the prosecution applied the charge of forced injury and demanded a 7-year prison sentence. The trial was held behind closed doors.

Earlier, the victim's side urged the court to impose the maximum sentence on former Mayor Oh through press conferences and other means.

It is reported that Oh made a final statement in court saying, "After 50 years in public office, everything was ruined by a momentary mistake," and "I will live with remorse."

Oh was indicted for forcibly molesting an employee at Busan City Hall around November 2018 and attempting to molest again in December of the same year, which was unsuccessful.

He is also charged with molesting another subordinate in his mayoral office in April 2020. The first trial sentencing for former Mayor Oh is scheduled for the 29th.
