Namwon-si Conducts Inspection of 'Water Supply Facilities' in Preparation for the Rainy Season

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, announced on the 11th that it will conduct an inspection of ’water supply facilities’ in preparation for the summer rainy season to ensure stable tap water supply and prevent safety accidents.

The inspection targets include one water purification plant, nine water storage tanks, 42 booster stations, and water pipes hanging from bridges. A self-inspection team has been formed to carry out inspections by water storage tank system until the 30th.

This inspection is being conducted with extra caution because last August, sudden heavy rain caused water supply pipe bursts, resulting in water outages in Geumji-myeon, Jucheon-myeon, Jusaeng-myeon, Daegang-myeon, and Ibaek-myeon.

Additionally, the overall condition of water supply facilities will be checked and inspected, including the ground and structural condition of the water supply facilities, any abnormalities in the operation of various machines and devices, and leaks in the pre-installed water pipes hanging from bridges.

Urgent repairs will be immediately carried out for facilities requiring urgent maintenance.

Lee Hwan-joo, Mayor of Namwon City, said, “We will do our best to manage water supply facilities more thoroughly before the rainy season arrives to provide high-quality tap water that all citizens can trust.”
