Seoul World Cup Stadium Expands LED Sports Lighting... Average Illuminance Up 36%

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Facilities Corporation announced on the 4th that it has significantly expanded and applied the lighting system at Seoul World Cup Stadium. An additional 68 LED lights were newly installed at 68 locations on top of the existing 268 lights, resulting in an average illuminance increase of 36%.

The corporation carried out the construction to create an environment suitable for international matches such as the FIFA World Cup final qualifiers, Asian Cup finals, and AFC Champions League finals, as the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) raised the international match lighting facility requirement to 2500 Lux starting this year.

The LED lighting is an eco-friendly, high-efficiency product that is expected to save energy due to its lower power consumption and higher efficiency compared to metal lamps.

With the lighting expansion work, the corporation not only meets international match standards but also provides viewers with brighter and clearer high-quality images tailored to HD-level broadcast quality, enabling a more vivid viewing environment.
