Yeonggwang-gun Holds Kickoff Meeting for 'Women's Agricultural Development Plan' Establishment

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 31st that it recently held a kickoff meeting for the '2021~2025 Yeonggwang-gun Female Farmers Development Plan' in the large conference room of the county office.

On this day, the meeting discussed the direction of establishing a plan to foster professional (young) female farmers and improve quality of life in response to the restructuring of rural labor due to aging and multiculturalization in rural areas, which is a nationwide phenomenon as well as in the county, under the concept of 'creating value for sustainable agriculture and rural areas.'

In particular, this plan is the first among Jeonnam cities and counties to recognize the importance of female farmers not only in agricultural production but also in population policy and to establish a systematic development plan at the county level.

Governor Kim Junsung said, "It was a meaningful occasion to hear the stories of female farmers," and added, "We will closely review the various opinions presented through this meeting with the relevant departments to discover practical policies that can be applied on-site and establish a plan that can foresee the distant future of the county."
