[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] In Sinui-myeon, Sinan-gun, famous for its solar salt, "spring cosmos" is in full bloom, creating a spectacular view and providing great comfort to residents weary from COVID-19.
According to Sinan-gun on the 27th, since March, Sinui-myeon has been developing a cosmos flower field in a 0.3-hectare vacant lot in Garak Village, which was previously wasteland.
Not long after completing the installation of a photo zone and environmental maintenance, the steady flow of visitors continues, making the small flower field a space for healing and relaxation for residents and tourists enduring difficult times due to the pandemic.
Notably, this flower field was created with the voluntary efforts and beautiful hearts of over 50 local residents from four organizations, including the Sinui-myeon Women's Association and the Volunteer Group, which adds to the emotional impact.
Park Eun-yong, head of Sinui-myeon, said, "I hope the fully bloomed cosmos flower field gives hope and comfort to many residents exhausted by COVID-19," and added, "We will do our best to provide a resting space by planting various flowers seasonally based on residents' opinions."
Sinui-myeon is the largest area producing 25% of the nation's solar salt and is also famous for abalone and king prawns.
