[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Hallasan1950 is gaining attention with products different from existing Jeju tourism items.

Hallasan1950 started from a small village container box in Seongsan, Jeju. With the idea of creating a representative product of Jeju, the release of Hallasan bread, inspired by Hallasan, the symbol and center of Jeju, has now extended to Hallasan chocolate.

In particular, Hallasan1950 features products differentiated from existing Jeju tourism items by designing and producing a 3D mold of Hallasan and manufacturing various chocolates using Jeju ingredients.

Hallasan1950 transparently and accurately manages all manufacturing processes from cacao selection to grinding and processing. Living up to the name of clean Jeju, it makes healthy and pure chocolate by using ingredients originating from Jeju without any separate chemical treatment or additives.

The main ingredient, chocolate, uses Ecuadorian cacao, and the company directly visits cacao bean cultivation sites such as Colombia, Mexico Cotachina, and Balu to carefully select only the best cacao beans.

Hallasan1950 embodies the characteristics of Jeju and offers the essence of Jeju. In spring, it releases products using prickly pear; in summer, Jeju matcha; in autumn, Udo peanuts; and in winter, tangerines, among other Jeju-sourced ingredients.

Hallasan1950 directly manages the entire chocolate-making process at its headquarters, from roasting to cracking, winnowing, conching, and tempering. It presents products differentiated from other souvenirs by incorporating the four seasons of Hallasan into chocolates of various origins and cacao contents such as 50%, 60%, and 100%.

Hallasan1950 currently conducts in-flight sales through a supply contract with Jin Air and is established as a product with a special Jeju color by being stocked at major tourist spots in Jeju, including sales stores within Jeju Airport, Oedo339 Bakery Cafe, and Arte Museum souvenir shops. Outside Jeju, starting with Jumunjin Dokkaebi Market Cafe, it is striving to introduce various products in more locations in the future.
