Gimhae City to Improve Facilities at 5 Local Gateball Courts... Total Investment of 900 Million KRW

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 25th that it will invest a total of 900 million KRW to improve the facilities of five gateball courts within the city.

First, next month, 150 million KRW will be spent to install electric sunshade curtains at the gateball court in Hallim-myeon. Prior to this, last month, 205 million KRW was invested to install curtains at the gateball courts in Bulam-dong and Saman-dong.

Additionally, in Hwalcheon-dong, the only one among the 19 eup, myeon, and dong without a gateball court, 200 million KRW will be used to create one gateball court within Eobang Sports Park.

Finally, to improve the poor conditions of the Samgye indoor gateball court, 300 million KRW will be spent to enhance accessibility for people with disabilities and expand parking facilities.

A Gimhae City official stated, “Through continuous inspections, we will ensure that citizens can engage in healthy activities in a convenient environment,” and added, “Since these facilities are mainly used by senior citizens, we kindly ask that usage be refrained during extreme heatwaves or cold spells, even if sunshade curtains are installed.”
