[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on the 25th that it has completed the development of the high-performance floor structure system, ‘H Silent Home System Ⅰ,’ and has also obtained the first on-site certification in Korea for floor impact sound insulation structure.
The ‘H Silent Home System Ⅰ’ is a floor structure system that includes a high-performance cushioning material (composite premium material) different from existing ones. In particular, the newly developed high-performance cushioning material uses special advanced materials to maximize noise reduction and impact absorption. By adjusting the natural frequency of the floor system, it blocks the transmission of low-frequency impact vibrations, effectively reducing inter-floor noise, especially heavy impact noise (sound transmitted by low-frequency vibrations when people walk or run). This high-performance cushioning material was jointly developed by Hyundai Engineering & Construction and a specialized partner company for inter-floor sound insulation, and a patent has recently been registered.
Currently, inter-floor noise tests are typically measured and certified in laboratories, which often results in performance differences compared to actual sites. Hyundai Engineering & Construction’s ‘H Silent Home System Ⅰ’ received verification of its inter-floor noise reduction performance directly on-site rather than in a laboratory, obtaining the first on-site certification among construction companies. This has also been recognized for reliability by an accredited institution, making its significance even greater.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction is reviewing the application of the ‘H Silent Home System Ⅰ’ by selecting pilot sites starting in the second half of this year. Since May last year, Hyundai Engineering & Construction has formed a team of experts from various fields including noise/vibration specialists, structural engineers, materials experts, quality control, and procurement to focus all efforts on researching inter-floor noise reduction technology for the development of the new floor structure system.
A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official stated, "Based on cutting-edge innovative technology, we will continue to strive to solve the socially significant issue of inter-floor noise and realize the highest residential value."
