원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced on the 25th that the 2021 official qualification exam for the 'Road Traffic Accident Appraiser' will be held on September 5.
The Road Traffic Accident Appraiser qualification was established to produce experts who scientifically analyze traffic accident investigations to accurately identify the causes of accidents and minimize disputes between parties involved in traffic accidents.
Certified as a private official qualification by the National Police Agency in April 2007, approximately 4,900 people have obtained the qualification to date. They play a role in analyzing data collected from traffic accident scenes based on scientific evidence and preparing appraisal reports.
Holders of the Road Traffic Accident Appraiser qualification receive additional points for new police officer recruitment and promotion, and extra points are also granted during new employee recruitment at the Korea Road Traffic Authority.
Since 2018, it has been legally designated as a qualification eligible for appointment as a traffic safety officer, enabling employment in related fields such as transportation companies. Korea Expressway Corporation, some automobile insurance companies, and mutual aid associations provide benefits such as qualification allowances to employees holding this certification.
The exam is open to anyone aged 18 or older regardless of educational background. Applications will be accepted online from August 2 to 12. The announcement of successful candidates is scheduled for October 14.
For those who were exempted from the first exam (2019 first exam passers) but did not take the exam last year due to COVID-19, an additional pre-registration period (August 1) will be provided for convenience.
