[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced on the 14th that it held a scholarship award ceremony at the Seo-gu Office of Gwangju Metropolitan City, attended by Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Yoon Poong-sik, Chairman of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Scholarship Foundation, and Park Heung-seok, Chairman of the Korean Red Cross Gwangju Jeonnam Branch.
Through this ceremony, Gwangju Bank donated 20 million won as a development fund to the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Scholarship Foundation, which will be used as scholarship funds for underprivileged students in the local community.
Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, said, “As the representative bank of Gwangju and Jeonnam, we will take the lead in various social contribution activities to nurture local talent so that children who will lead the future of our region can grow their dreams without being discouraged by difficult circumstances.” He added, “We will continue to listen carefully to various local issues and the voices of residents, sincerely realizing values beyond profit such as ‘coexistence with the region and companionship with local residents.’”
