[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 13th that it will implement the 'Resident Safety Insurance System' to help residents quickly return to their daily lives in case of damage caused by various accidents and disasters.

The Resident Safety Insurance aims to cover damages caused by various accidents and disasters such as explosions, collapses, fires, landslides, water-related accidents, and heat-related illnesses.

Even if the same damage occurs, a certain amount of insurance money will be paid additionally on top of the insurance the individual has subscribed to.

In particular, residents of the district can receive damage compensation regardless of the location of the accident, even if the accident occurs in other regions within the country.

Damage compensation can be claimed by the insured or their family by submitting supporting documents to the insurance company within three years from the date of the accident.

The compensation period for the Resident Safety Insurance System is until March 30 of next year, and Nam-gu is considering subscribing to the Resident Safety Insurance annually after reviewing residents' responses and satisfaction with the system.

A Nam-gu official stated, "We will promptly support damage compensation for residents who suffer from unexpected accidents to ensure their livelihood stability and welfare improvement, fulfilling the local government's responsibility for disaster and safety management."
