[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Guri City in Gyeonggi Province has expressed a welcoming stance regarding the inclusion of the Seoul Subway Line 6 extension to Guri and Namyangju as an additional review project in the government's "4th National Railroad Network Construction Plan."

On the 25th, Guri City stated, "The '4th National Railroad Network Construction Plan' includes the double-tracking of the Wangsimni-Cheongnyangni section of the Bundang Line, which is part of the Gyeongchun Line-Bundang Line direct extension project submitted by Guri City."

With the plan expected to be finalized in the first half of the year, the city pledged to make every effort to ensure that the subway extension projects, including the Line 6 extension, are definitely reflected.

Additionally, discussions with related organizations such as the National Assembly, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Gyeonggi Province will be simultaneously promoted regarding the stop at Galmae Station on the GTX-B line.

Mayor Ahn Seung-nam of Guri said, "Since the Line 6 extension project has been included as an additional review project, we will cooperate with the National Assembly and related organizations to quickly secure project feasibility and carefully manage the project to ensure the expansion of the metropolitan transportation network without any setbacks."

Meanwhile, the city plans to continuously pursue transportation measures for regional balanced development, including the extension of Subway Line 9 towards Guri and the extension of the Seoul Light Rail Transit (Myeonmok Line), which were not reflected in this public hearing.
