[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) will hold an online residents' public forum from April 19 to 23 to gather diverse perspectives and opinions from residents on proposals and ideas that can realize the 2022 participatory budget policy tasks.
This residents' public forum is a place to discuss proposals and ideas discovered through the 2022 Eunpyeong-gu participatory budget residents' proposal contest, and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, all sessions over the five days will be conducted online.
The forum topics include 11 Eunpyeong-gu policy tasks such as ▲ improving the quality of life for single-person households ▲ revitalizing citizen education for self-directed problem-solving ▲ creating a resource-circulating Eunpyeong ▲ building a healthy village through mental health promotion and disease prevention. Residents who wish to participate can select and apply for the policy tasks and dates they are interested in.
Applicants can choose up to two policy tasks of interest during the forum schedule, and applications can be submitted online or offline by visiting in person until 6 p.m. on April 2.
The participatory budget policy task proposals concretized through the forum will go through a review process by the relevant departments after the forum and are scheduled to be implemented as 2022 participatory budget projects through a residents' general assembly vote planned for August.
An official from Eunpyeong-gu said, "This residents' public forum is expected to be a meaningful time for residents to share various opinions on participatory budget proposals and to jointly consider the concretization of projects."
