30-Year-Old Arrested for Summoning and Killing Opponent After In-Game Argument

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] A man in his 30s who met a man in his 20s in person and killed him with a weapon after an argument during a popular mobile game has been arrested by the police.

On the 14th, the Jungbu Police Station in Daejeon announced that they had requested an arrest warrant for A (38), who was booked on suspicion of murder. A is accused of stabbing B (28) with a weapon and killing him around 1:40 a.m. on the 13th at an apartment complex in Daejeon. B was transported to the hospital by the 119 emergency responders who arrived at the scene but ultimately died.

A and B met through a mobile game, and after having an argument with B in the game, A, who became angry, called B near his own home and committed the crime with a weapon he had prepared in advance. A admitted most of the charges but stated that it was not a premeditated murder.

The police plan to request an autopsy of B's body at the National Forensic Service.
