"For the economically disadvantaged and marginalized communities affected by COVID-19."
This is the ‘Overcoming COVID-19, Golfzon Neighborly Love Happiness Sharing’ event by the Golfzon Cultural Foundation. At the sponsorship ceremony held on the 10th at Joymaru in Daejeon, it was announced that "a project to support daily necessities kits worth a total of 202 million KRW will be carried out." The event is co-hosted by the Golfzon Cultural Foundation, Daejeon Metropolitan City Volunteer Support Center, and local city and county offices. Throughout this year, the project will be conducted in odd months in the Daejeon area, and in even months in Yongin, Jeju, Suncheon, and other regions.
Each month, approximately 350 households including elderly living alone, low-income families, and single-parent families will receive daily necessities kits worth about 18 million KRW. The products are purchased from local supermarkets and delivered to each household through city and county offices and volunteer support centers. Director Kim Young-chan said, "As COVID-19 prolongs, we hope this will provide practical help to neighbors going through economically difficult times," adding, "We plan to continue our efforts to deliver warmth and hope."
