[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced on the 8th that National Assembly member Hwang Bo-seung-hee (People Power Party) and Choi Jin-bong, Mayor of Jung-gu, Busan, visited on the 5th and promised mutual harmony and exchange.
This visit was made at the suggestion of National Assembly member Hwang Bo-seung-hee, whose constituency is Jung-gu, Busan.
Member Hwang has been part of the Honam Accompanying Parliamentary Group launched by the People Power Party in November last year.
Regarding the reason for visiting Gokseong-gun among the 22 cities and counties in Honam, Member Hwang recalled, “When I visited Gokseong for personal tourism, I received a warm and friendly impression.”
At this meeting, the Gokseong-gun side provided an overview of the region and discussed pending issues requiring national treasury support for the next year.
Additionally, Gokseong-gun and Jung-gu, Busan, expected this meeting to be an opportunity to open the door to mutual exchange.
After discussing the pending issues, time was spent touring Gokseong-gun’s representative tourist facilities.
Gokseong-gun introduced newly prepared tourist facilities such as Amnok Sang-sang School and Art Village.
They also introduced the steam locomotive running along the Seomjin River and the mini train within the Train Village.
Member Hwang said, “Through today’s visit, I have once again clearly recognized the charm of Gokseong-gun,” and promised, “I will continue to take interest and consider support measures in the future.”
Choi Jin-bong, Mayor of Jung-gu, Busan, introduced plans to re-advance Jung-gu as a cultural and artistic city and said, “I hope cultural and specialty product exchanges with Gokseong-gun will continue.”
Yoo Geun-gi, Governor of Gokseong-gun, welcomed the visit, saying, “For true East-West harmony, I hope we continue meetings and cooperate with each other from today as a starting point.”
Meanwhile, the event was held with a minimized scale to prevent COVID-19.
