At around 5:30 a.m. on the 1st, the electricity supply to about 150 households in Garak-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul was interrupted but restored after about 30 minutes.
The police and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) responded to a resident's report stating, "There was a popping sound and sparks from the power line." KEPCO temporarily cut off the electricity to inspect and removed the new bird's nest.
A KEPCO official said, "Sparks occurred due to a bird's nest built on top of the transformer," adding, "After about 30 minutes of maintenance, electricity was supplied again."
