[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) is actively supporting firefighting forces in COVID-19 vaccination efforts across the province.
On the 26th, Jeonnam Fire announced that 119 ambulances will be deployed to 117 locations, including Yeosu Heungguk Gymnasium where vaccinations are taking place, and 22 nursing hospitals in cities and counties scheduled for visiting vaccinations until early next month.
This deployment of 119 ambulances is a measure to prepare for adverse reaction patients following COVID-19 vaccinations in Jeonnam Province. Jeonnam Fire will dispatch 117 ambulances and 351 personnel to the sites.
Each facility will have three paramedics with professional qualifications such as nurses and one special ambulance. The ambulances are equipped with specialized equipment such as defibrillators and oxygen respirators to prepare for emergency patients.
In case of adverse reactions after vaccination, immediate emergency treatment will be provided and patients will be transported to nearby emergency medical centers.
Additionally, Jeonnam Fire plans to maintain a rapid response system for 'adverse reaction patients' through the installation of an emergency backup system at the 119 comprehensive situation room, selection of transport hospitals via the ambulance situation management center, and medical guidance for ambulance teams.
Ma Jaeyoon, Chief of Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, said, "Jeonnam Fire will fully support the COVID-19 vaccination efforts that begin to restore the ordinary daily lives of residents," adding, "We will actively promote firefighting support for health center visiting vaccinations and future vaccination centers opening in each city and county."
