원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education has distributed learning consulting materials on study methods and counseling operations for high school students during the COVID-19 situation.
On the 21st, the Ministry of Education, together with the Korea Secondary Senior Teachers Association and the Korea Career and Academic Information Center, distributed the "Learning Consulting Guidelines and Casebook for High School Students in the COVID-19 Situation" to all high schools, city and provincial comprehensive learning clinic centers, and other related educational institutions.
The materials contain results from a four-month period during which about 430 consultants, including senior teachers, provided guidance in a hybrid online and offline 1:1 format to 2,300 middle- to lower-ranking general high school students. The content focuses on learning counseling aimed at addressing students' learning loss and educational gaps caused by remote classes, as well as precautions depending on counseling issues, organized around case studies.
The casebook analyzes the current status of learning counseling operations, desired counseling areas, and satisfaction levels. It includes an overview of psychological and emotional counseling, career and academic counseling, study methods, and subject-specific learning counseling in a non-face-to-face learning environment, along with diagnosis of problem causes, case analyses, and step-by-step counseling strategies. It also contains real cases that helped improve students' self-directed learning abilities through customized learning support.
Lee Sang-su, Director of the School Innovation Support Office at the Ministry of Education, said, "With the active help of senior teachers and others, we have laid the foundation for high school students to regain confidence in their studies by improving their self-directed learning abilities in a non-face-to-face learning environment." He added, "To overcome the COVID-19 situation and restore normal school life, we will continue to actively support individualized learning guidance and counseling activities in cooperation with city and provincial offices of education."
