[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Lee Seung-chul, CEO of Yuguk Industry Co., Ltd. (age 61), was inaugurated as the 13th president of the Pukyong National University Alumni Association on the 16th.


On the same day, Lee was inaugurated as the new president at the Pukyong National University Alumni Association inauguration and handover ceremony held in the president's office on the 3rd floor of the university headquarters, attended by President Jang Young-soo and the 12th president of the Alumni Association, Jeong Yong-pyo.


The new president graduated from Pukyong National University’s Department of Food Engineering in 1985 and has been serving as the executive vice president of the Alumni Association since 2018. Since founding Yuguk Industry Co., Ltd. in 1998, he has been active in the manufacturing and recycling of condrums, contributing to the eco-friendly industry and revitalization of the local economy.


In his inauguration speech, the new president said, “Pukyong National University has established itself as the representative national university of Busan that many students wish to enter. As the president representing 210,000 Pukyong people, I will do my best not only for the development of the Alumni Association but also to help our alma mater grow further.”


He pledged that this year’s key projects for the Alumni Association will include the successful hosting of the 9th Homecoming Day event, the formation and activation of alumni associations in various regions and branches, and support for the innovative founding of the alma mater.


Meanwhile, on the same day, the Pukyong National University Alumni Association entrusted a total of 20 million KRW to the university development fund, including 10 million KRW from the Alumni Association’s donation fund and 10 million KRW from former president Jeong Yong-pyo’s donation fund.
