[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 10th that it will hold a contest for the '2021 Regulatory Improvement Citizen Ideas' to discover and improve unreasonable regulations that hinder citizens' lives and business activities.
In the field of citizen life and safety, the contest calls for regulations that cause inconvenience or burdens in citizen welfare or daily life, regulations that hinder employment and job creation, measures to strengthen citizen safety, and support measures for self-employed business owners.
In the field of regional innovation growth, the contest seeks regulations related to community-based living SOC projects such as urban regeneration and old industrial complex regeneration, as well as regulations that hinder corporate development.
The contest period is from today until the 31st of next month, and Yeosu City gift certificates worth 500,000 KRW, 300,000 KRW, and 100,000 KRW will be awarded to one grand prize winner, one excellence prize winner, and three encouragement prize winners, respectively.
Any Yeosu citizen can participate, and applicants must complete the proposal and other application documents and submit them to the Planning and Budget Department.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the form from the 'Notices and Announcements' section on the city website and submitting it in person, by mail, email, or fax.
Submitted ideas will be reviewed by the relevant department for feasibility, creativity, efficiency and effectiveness, and sustainability, followed by deliberation by the Yeosu City Regulatory Reform Committee to select outstanding proposals.
A city official stated, "Selected outstanding proposals will be continuously suggested to central government ministries," and added, "We hope many people with innovative ideas will participate so that unreasonable regulations felt in daily life can be improved."
