[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] Hunet announced on the 8th that it has received approval from the Korea Industrial Technology Association to establish a corporate research institute called the 'Artificial Intelligence Education Research Institute.'


The Artificial Intelligence Education Research Institute is composed of eight data specialist researchers. It will undertake various research projects, including the advancement of AI tutors, AI curation, and AI-based sentence similarity analysis applied to LABS, the next-generation education system.


According to Hunet, the institute plans to conduct research on ▲ conversational chatbots focused on learning and education ▲ big data-based educational content recommendation and learning analysis solutions ▲ AI designers and developers. Additionally, Hunet stated that it plans to file patents for the research and development outcomes.


With the approval to establish this research institute, Hunet plans to accelerate its edutech development. Since 2016, Hunet has invested in edutech-based educational solutions to strengthen its research and development capabilities in data and AI fields. The institute will be led by Executive Director Yongin Lee, who oversees Hunet's DT (Digital Transformation) LAB.


Yongtak Cho, CEO of Hunet, said, "The Artificial Intelligence Education Research Institute will be the focal point that propels Hunet to become a specialized edutech company," adding, "We will devote ourselves to research and development to enhance the quality of education and maximize learners' educational effectiveness through AI technology."
