[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Moon Young-hoon, a senior official of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, has been appointed as the Director of Planning and Coordination Office of Gwangju Metropolitan City.
Director Moon Young-hoon is from Jangheung, Jeonnam. He graduated from Jangheung High School and Yonsei University, passed the 37th Administrative Examination, and entered public service in 1994.
He has held key positions such as Director of Local Competitiveness Support Division, Director of Regional Economy Division, and Director of Autonomy System Division at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. He is known as a passionate administrator, having earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Birmingham in the UK and a Ph.D. in Public Administration specializing in Regional Development from Seoul National University.
In particular, he is recognized as the key figure who introduced the concept of CS (Customer Satisfaction) into administrative agencies and led the successful innovation of customer satisfaction. He is evaluated as an administrative expert with diverse field experience and know-how, including overseas assignments, administrative officer at the Blue House, and dispatch to the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics Organizing Committee.
In addition to his outstanding planning skills, he is known as an expert in administration with excellent passion and drive. Based on his extensive public service experience and network, he is expected to become a driving force in promoting key projects based on AI-New Deal and enhancing citizen-centered administrative services.
Meanwhile, former Director Kim Kwang-hwi, who served for about 2 years and 4 months, leaves behind many achievements such as reaching the era of 20 trillion won in national funds, the full-scale realization of Gwangju as an AI-centered city, public institution innovation, and establishing the Gwangju-type AI-New Deal vision, and is moving to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
