[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Fintech security company Aton announced on the 14th through a public disclosure that it has won a contract worth approximately 7.6 billion KRW to build Gwangju Bank's next-generation smart banking system. This contract is the largest since Aton's establishment, and the project will be carried out over about 13 months from this month until February 2022.
Based on its know-how and technological capabilities in financial service development, Aton plans to newly develop Gwangju Bank's smart banking system to enable stable and fast processing. Through this, Gwangju Bank aims to secure competitiveness in digital platforms while improving the quality of customer-facing smart banking services and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Additionally, as the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has rapidly accelerated non-face-to-face interactions, triggering a full-scale digital transformation in the financial sector, Gwangju Bank is expected to provide customer-tailored financial services reflecting the latest trends and to activate customer acquisition and usage through non-face-to-face channels.
Kim Jong-seo, CEO of Aton, stated, “This contract is based on long-standing experience and trust accumulated in the financial sector, and as a fintech company specializing in financial services, we will develop differentiated services unique to Gwangju Bank and realize customer satisfaction.”
