The Rural Development Project aims to increase farm income through rapid dissemination of new technologies and fostering regionally specialized crops. A total of 60 projects will be implemented, including 45 projects by the Technology Dissemination Division and 15 projects by the Rural Support Division, with a total budget of 3.09 billion KRW.
The major newly introduced projects this year include ▲Comprehensive technology model pilot to reduce rice production costs ▲Labor-saving vertical cultivation pilot for small and medium-sized watermelons ▲Establishment of asparagus complex as a new income crop ▲Pilot cultivation of subtropical crop papaya as a new income crop ▲Distribution of new variety Cheondo peach ▲Support for organic food service startups, among others.
Applications can be made by farmers residing in the county, agricultural organizations, or corporations. Applicants who meet the requirements for each project can submit their application forms by visiting the County Agricultural Technology Center or the local agricultural consultation office from the 18th of this month to the 5th of next month.
The county will conduct on-site surveys for each project on the applying farms and select beneficiaries through the Agricultural Industry-Academic Cooperation Council's review.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, "We plan to promote various projects that provide benefits evenly even to small-scale farms, such as fostering peaches, the county's representative specialized crop, establishing asparagus complexes as new income crops, expanding smart farm dissemination, and nurturing young farmers, to build a sustainable future agricultural foundation."
