원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun stated in his New Year's address on the 31st, "We will carry out the plans for the introduction of vaccines and treatments without any setbacks."
Prime Minister Chung said, "Although our daily lives, once free, have frozen due to an invisible virus, we are overcoming the worst trials through solidarity, cooperation, concession, and consideration," adding, "Each and every citizen has demonstrated the dignity and resilience of the Republic of Korea."
He continued, "Thanks to the fierce battle on the quarantine front, economic indicators are fortunately improving, but despite recording the best economic growth rate among OECD countries last year, the reality we feel is as cold as a midwinter cold wind."
Prime Minister Chung declared, "In the new year, the government will take the lead in nurturing and growing the flame of hope that the people have cherished."
He emphasized, "First, we will carry out the plans for the introduction of vaccines and treatments without any setbacks," and added, "We will gather the energy of participatory quarantine with the people so that this will be the last winter fighting COVID-19, putting all our efforts into it."
Prime Minister Chung said, "We will also nurture the precious flame of economic recovery even more."
He stated, "Beyond the rebound in statistical indicators, we will transform into an inclusive economy and a leading economy so that a warm atmosphere can spread throughout our lives."
