원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The School Corporation Jeongui Academy announced on the 31st that Professor Seung Hyun-woo of the Department of Information Security has been appointed as the 9th president of Seoul Women's University.
Seung Hyun-woo is the first male president of Seoul Women's University. President Seung graduated from Sogang University and obtained his master's and doctoral degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Since joining Seoul Women's University as a professor in 1994, he has served as Director of International Cooperation, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of the College of Information Media, and Dean of Graduate School.
President Seung stated, "The current crisis facing universities can rather become a turning point for university growth and development through a change in mindset and creative innovation," adding, "To overcome the crisis caused by the decline in the school-age population and financial difficulties, we plan to expedite the globalization of the university and the convergence of industry-academia cooperation." His term is four years.
